About WAP
We offer a variety of styles of psychotherapy and counselling by practitioners trained and qualifed in these fields: integrative, psychodynamic, humanistic, psychoanalytic, and CBT.
- Our pool of WAP psychotherapists are all highly experienced in their individual fields.
- Our psychotherapists work from different locations covering the borough of Wandsworth, so that clients can, if they wish, see someone conveniently near their home or place of work.
- Our catchment area, however, is not restricted to clients with a specific connection to Wandsworth - we do accept clients living / working elsewhere.
- Our organization is well established, and has been working in Wandsworth since 1995.
- We have good links with local GPs and other healthcare agencies in Wandsworth.
- WAP is run by a co-ordinating team of four highly experienced, qualified, and registered psychotherapists.
- Everyone coming to WAP looking for counselling or psychotherapy is assessed by one of the Coordinators; great efforts are made to match clients to counsellors and psychotherapists they will be able to work with well.
- The WAP coordinators interview and select all the counsellors.
- The low cost centre is itself two-tier: we offer open ended low cost counselling and also offer counselling for a limited period (not more than six months) at a very low cost.
- Our service is known for its speed of delivery: assessments can usually be arranged very quickly, and the time from assessment to referral and commencement of counselling and psychotherapy is usually two to three weeks.
- The centre is easy to get to, we have very good transport links to train, bus, and underground. There is some free parking for an hour, and pay and display parking, outside.
- Our premises are attractive and comfortable.
- We can offer therapy in several languages other than English: currently Italian, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
